TightVNC is a Client/Server system for connecting to other PCs with limited bandwidth (e.g. via modem or ISDN). Transmission quality can be varied, so that real-time operations are possible over a slow connection. In addition TightVNC has an integrated HTTP server, so that you can use a Java applet and a web browser to gain access to the remote desktop. The remote control works over a network or the Internet. The server version of VNC must be installed and running on the computer to be controlled. When connection is made, the remote computer’s desktop appears in a window, and you can use it as if you were directly in front of it.
